Of course. not a bar.
Love the food! Very authentic Korean menu. Highly recommend the kimchi stew. Owner is very traditional, if respected visit is pleasant.
I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate. The lettuce and carrots are not steamed. Employee Would not give me any Teriyaki sauce on the side. I am not interested in coming back.
The Korean dishes I could have in Oregon is limited. So, I wanted to taste all of the Korean restaurants nearby. The first one I chose was Cafe Seoul Restaurant. From the outside, which said "Restaurant" in Korean made me feel that the owner was Korean. The inside was decorated nicely dispite the coziness of the building. The Owner and the wife was so nice, they explained everything about the menu, which were names and pictures about the Korean food. Another thing that got my eyes was that they never used a plastic bag which helps Earth. This, I think goes perfectly with the Korea's symbol as the Eastern Country of Manners. I plan to go there again and again.
They have reasonable lunch specials that taste great. Friendly staff.
Its delicious. Fish egg soup is good.
Excellent food, great people! Wait can be a little long but the food is worth the wait.
Wonderful food and great place.
Always delicious. Friendly service. Local family run place.
Let me start off with their food being 5/5. I've been to cities like Toronto, LA, San Francisco, etc... and the food is so good I could compare them to these cities. But, there is only one thing that's keeping me from giving this place 5/5 and that's the staff that is very old fashioned and it seems like the older gentleman really doesnt like Chinese students. As I am not Chinese I didnt feel unwelcomed, but the Chinese students behind me had to wait for like 5 mins to get their order in (other reviews same similar things) . Also, the owner is never smiling or positive. Dont get me wrong, I'm not one of those guys who wants fake smiles, but this guys attitude is what makes cafe Seoul a dreadful environment. Other than that, amazing food; and great prices. I truly wish they could lighten up the environment since it's in such a good location that gives it the potential to be the best Korean restaurant in Eugene.
I love the food here. Some of the best I have had.
Hard to say. Owner of the Restruant is kind of wired. A little bit unstable, especially to Asian customers. (Americans you are safe) And the waiting time for every meal is freakin crazy!!! And the price is not very pretty. HOWEVER, some dishes such as Kalbee Soup, Yuke Jang and kimchi rice are delicious enough that worth waiting.
Best Korean food in town. Good home-cooked meals, priced right for what you get. Nice owners, very hard-working.
Though the food is well priced and tasty, the service during busy times is awful. I've walked in to order to the place filled with customers but with several tables nor cleared. After ordering I stood in the corner for more than 10 minutes without a table being cleared or really acknowledged by the staff. However seated dinners had to go boxes prepped, food and silverware set down by the staff whil I stood and waited for a clean table. When served they mixed up that I wanted it here as I had been standing and they presumed I wanted it to go. The manager apologized. Good people, just bad combo
Staff was rude and the food took a long time to be prepared.
The service was terrible, never smile except you are white or korean. Food was good, only because it is one of few korean restaurants located in eugene.
Great food! Very quaint place. You pay for your food before you get it. It’s definitely a family-owned, small business. It’s not the best Korean food I’ve ever had, but it’s good!
I'm half Korean and new to the area. I'm always trying to find the places that almost meet the standards of my mother's Korean dishes (it never happens, but I like to try). Shortly after our move to Eugene, my husband and I tried out Cafe Seoul Korean Restaurant. The food was so great that we decided to return even though the service was awful. We both have worked years in the service industry and know what bad days at work can be like. The male owner was rude to us, almost negligent, as if he didn't even want us there. The food kept us coming back a few more times, but the both of us regretted even walking in those doors by the time we left because of the man's poor attitude. Since then, we have explored other Korean restaurants and have found just as excellent food with great service-- give your money to those people. The food is great but the vibes suck.
The best Korean restaurant in town. More authentic than any other place. My late wife's and my favorite go-to place for dinner.
Superb yuke jang soup! Highly recommend trying this place. They use high quality ingredients, making authentic Korean food that is made from scratch. The seating in this place is similar to a deli or ice cream shop not a traditional restaurant. Highly recommend this place for the food. Please note; After ordering and receiving your food, this place does not come with staff to wait on you. If you desire something to drink like there hot Jasmine tea, you serve yourself.
Nice BBQ ribs, very nice yokisoba. Stone pan rice may be authentic Korean, but not my style. Quite busy, even at the hour when we ate (past 7pm on a weekday). Owner looks real serious, I guess that's his style? Will recommend to other passersby.
This is the worst Korean restaurant, the worst service attitude, and the owner is a racist.
We enjoyed the food and found the service prompt and friendly.
Been going to this place as long as I can remember and it's great food and great service
The food here is so good, and their lunch special is only $8! The man who owns it is a little curmudgeonly, but in a very charming way. I love coming here after a long day of classes, and their bulgogi is really good
Yumm
The cashier always saying bad words when we order, I do not know if those bad words are to us or anything. It seems that he never smile to Asians except the Korean. The food here are great but attitude is just awful.
We showed up right after the lunch rush. Had decent service with a great reccomendation. The price was hard to bet 😃.
The best seafood noodle soup anywhere in 300 mile radius - get the spiced up version. The owners are really proud of their cooking, with good reason.
Love their food!
Delicious! A must visit, each time we visit Eugene.
Feel like Korean home cooked meal
My daughter and I stopped in at a quarter to two on Thursday for a change of pace from the boring food we usually eat. We stood at the counter for over 5 minutes and watched a guy bussing tables, thinking he would help us when he came back this direction. A Korean girl came up behind us, wanting to pay for her drink, the guy helped her, although was rude to her when she didn't have cash but her credit card was accepted, all the while NOT acknowledging us at all. We are still smiling and waiting. He goes back to cleaning up tables and I told my daughter that maybe he'll help on his way back this time.... He went back and emptied his trays and then walked right past us and started cleaning tables again. 10 or more minutes have passed and we were already hungry when we went out for lunch so good thing Subway is right next door to the Cafe Seoul.
Delicious food BUT extremely long wait time. Went there on Monday afternoon with the GF. Took over an hour to get the food. I did like the food but I'll be hesitant to return again. Granted, I did come after peak hours so maybe the majority of staff was gone. Tables weren't busted. I'll give it a better rating if they can improve on speed of service. As of right note, they're literally losing customers during to long wait times. I saw a few people leave during my visit
